- Glory to God who is fair and just.
Let’s take time to bring glory to God who protects us all the time. Our God who dwells upon high, glory be to Him forever and always. We rejoice in sadness and rejoice in gladness for He is forever with us. The book of Daniel displays God’s power and glory wonderfully and shows how God is indeed in control of everything that happens on earth, because He created it (Genesis1:1). God can turn any situation to good and He protects His people. He blesses whomever He choses and whomever He choses will be subject to His wrath. God stands for His believers and is against all evil. He punishes evil doers and the wicked shall fall (Romans 14:11) under His judgement. God is the eternally fair judge. He blesses the good, those who follow His word; those who reverence and call upon His name. Jehovah is our God. The same God who is, was and forever will be. (Zechariah 14:9) In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1 The Lord will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Lord, and his name the only name. Zechariah 14:9 For it is written: As I live, says the Lord, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God.” Romans 14:11
- God is love
Certainly He who dwells most high is love (1 John 4:16) Many in this world lack love because they do not know love (1 Corinthians 13:4-7). Loved should be reciprocated. He knows your heart. And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. 1 John 4:16 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
- Working hard is good
For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule : "The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat" 2 Thessalonians 3 : 10
- Fear of a predator
Fear looms around like a dark cloud and makes one restless. A state of panic where your body shivers and quakes. The core of your body turns icy cold. Your mind holds on to that one thing that means the most to you. In a sense fear can even make you lose your mind. Delusions and scenarios that may or may not happen haunt you. It holds you back and time moves painfully slow. You watch the clock in fear that your enemy might strike at any moment. Thus you have your guard up 24/7. It's tiresome but you're more scared than you are tired, so you keep going. Have you ever had that feeling? It's normal. We are human so we are bound to at one point feel afraid. However, not many people know that it is dangerous to allow yourself to be in such a state for too long. I pray that God is your corner stone in times like these. The longer you are in such a state you slowly become desperate, more irrational and you start slipping away from your humanity. Virtues like trust and bonds will become meaningless as you remain hell bent on surviving. Goals and purposes in life become obscured and warped and before you know it you're merely obsessed with keeping your life for as long as you can, so much so that you would do absolutely anything. That is dangerous. One of two things may happen. Become a suck up who forever lives at the bottom of the food chain or you will be consumed with a desire to reach or stay at the top of the food chain. In both cases your focus is far off God's will and to this you will be blind. In extreme cases you may even loose your concept of time; and become stuck in a never ending loop that never ends for you, while the whole world moves forward. Just imagine it left by the world because of your will to keep it. He who wishes to keep his life shall lose it and he who doesn't shall keep it. Does this mean you should give up and allow your enemies to trample over you? Absolutely not. This simply means that trust in the Lord God even through your hardships and allow Him to make you strong enough to with stand your battles, thus delivering you from them. Glorify him at all times and keep your eyes towards Him that way you will not lose direction. For you have not been given a spirit of fear but a spirit of love
- God is great and Mighty
Babylon was a great nation but God reduced it to a place where; and I quote "none shall remain in it, neither man nor beast, but it shall be desolate forever." (Jeremiah 51 : 62) and then "Thus Babylon shall sink and not rise from the catastrophe that I will bring upon her. And they shall be weary. Thus far are the words of Jeremiah." (Jeremiah 51 : 64) FUN FACT: this was the end of Jeremiah's messages.
- My HANDS
I looked at my hands and wondered why they were so rough and at the same time I realised that maybe these rough hands did suite me; with all the work that I do. I imagined myself with dainty, soft and frail hands, tinted with a light pink colour, but that image quickly disappeared; because those were not my hands Those were not the hands that told the story of how hard I had worked. Those dainty soft hands, did not tell the story of how much and how long I had toiled. Those hands that had never seen a day of work or hardship were not mine. And now I will dare not envy those smooth soft hands, because I want to hold, share and own my story. Because my story is a part of me. My story is something I hold dearly and one that I do not intend to throw away, hide or replace. These are my hands. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. Romans 5 : 3 - 5
- Why am I so bad?
I ask myself this question. Often it is after I have given into temptation or fallen back into my old sinful ways. I am a sinner and there's is not doubt about it, but I will put in all the effort I possibly can to not fall back. This determination is there but I sometimes ask myself "what right do I have?" I have fallen back and I am coming back again on my knees again. How many times has it been? even I am sick of myself. I sometimes think if I could have the ability to sin taken away from me or if the desires of my flesh were taken away from me it would be so much better. I wouldn't have to struggle against my flesh daily and go about God's work peacefully; but then again, since God did do that to us there must be a reason; one that helps us actually. I just don't know what it is at the moment. I cry because I know I am selfish. I cry because I know that I fall back into sin so often I deserve death. I desperately want to follow but I still find it hard. It shows that I still have a long way to grow, and I keep pursuing that growth despite knowing that I will never reach it for as long as I live. I pray that God can break my heart for the things His heart breaks for; and that my thoughts are guided by Him. "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak" Matthew 26 : 41
- What are some things a good friendship has?
As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another (Proverbs 27 : 17) Having friends is really important in Christianity so much so that even Jesus had 12 close friends which was Him displaying for us exactly what friends who claim to be followers of Christ should be like. Jesus also shows us that having friends is necessary in life. It's not a luxury its a necessity. Jesus could do it alone but he showed us the importance of not doing it alone, because he knows that we are human; we can't do everything on our own and this is why relationships are so important. We depend on each other so its best to depend on good people. People who love you. so be careful of who you surround yourself with, because we tend to become more like the people we associate ourselves with. Look around yourself are your friends people you would like to be more like or not? Do they motivate you to become a better person? What do you learn from each other? Do they worry about you as much as you worry about them? etc... The list goes on. The video mentions some of the qualities and good attributes that exist between good friends; and ones who walk with God. So, now ask yourself what kind of friend you want to be? and what kind of friends do you want to have around you? Do not be misled: "Bad company corrupts good morals." (1 Corinthians 15 : 33)
- Who Needs Some Prayer?
Comment what you would like to be prayed for and we will keep you in our prayers. You can also connect with people who you want to give a helping hand to or reach out to someone to help you. Nevertheless, let us pray together. What, then, shall we say in response to these things? if God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8 : 31)
- Watch your Tongue; We're selfish humans.
Sometimes I wonder why we (humans) are so selfish. Our desires and wants sometimes just seem to cloud everything and we can only think about ourselves and speak only in favour of what benefits us the most; this is especially the case when our emotions are roused. It's kind of sad because those are the moments where we should watch our tongues the most because ... Our tongues have the power to invoke blessings and curses on others. Always ask God to guide what comes out of your mouth. It's simply important. (Psalm 141 : 3 - 5)
- God. Jesus. Holy Spirit. WHO ARE THEY?
In the world of Christianity you hear about these three quite often but as a new Christian or someone who hasn't been around Christianity or if you just haven't thought about it much you might ask yourself "who the heck are these guys?" or "what's their deal?" and understandably so. You can't just jump into something that you don't know. So here's the deal. We'll get to know a little more about the gospel, read the Bible and see what it's all about for yourself and then you can choose by yourself, for yourself to follow Christ or not. Give it a shot. Pleases Note: It's not going to be all boring read-a-book-with-no-pictures kind of thing. there will be more than just reading because there's no one right way to get to know God. So you'll always have a way to find Him through other mediums such as music, movies, animation, etc... the list goes on. Firstly let's start on a clean slate and forget everything that society tells you about Christianity and let's turn to what the "handbook" says; by this I mean the Bible because that's what the Christian faith is based on. Why am I telling you to look into a Bible already? Well, in this stage (let's get the definitions straight); by looking at the Bible you will be able to: The definition of what it is to be a Christian is found in the Bible. So you'll be able to tell whether people who call themselves Christians are really saying what they know or twisting it to their own advantage. Who God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are, is found in the Bible. You will start being more aware of what exactly is going wrong in the world. When studying about God, it is super important not to just accept information at face value because countless times people twist the words or meaning of scripture, so it is important that you do your own research and look at the scripture and it context for yourself (just to be sure). You might think that with all this looking is it worth it? The answer is "yes" because there has been a promise given to us by God which is ["So I say to you "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened." (Luke 11:9) ]. So certainly if the creator of the heavens and earth says that to you it will be delivered, but often it never comes in the package that we expect so some people (who don't fully trust) get disheartened quickly. Trust the process. The next thing were going to do is try and find out who Jesus was, of which you may as "and why look at Jesus first and not God or the Holy Spirit?" Well that is pretty simple: Jesus was actually here on earth with us before; and there is so much evidence from both Christians and non-Christians that Jesus did in fact exist and lived on earth with us. So Jesus is the closest clue we can grab. Related to the first point, In scripture it says [Jesus answered, "I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)]. With that said, let's go through Him first. In order to to now get who Jesus was we need to find out who He was, what He did, etc... and so in order to do this, I personally find the book of Luke to be the best place to start. Why the book of Luke? Luke was a doctor and so had though observation and analysis skills and this is exactly what the book of Luke is. At the start of it he even mentions how it is a summary and recheck of the several accounts that had already been written about Jesus, thus, the book of Luke has a bit of everything that you need to know about the life of Jesus, from His Birth to His death. How was Jesus born? Read Luke 2 for Jesus' birth and an account of His early life (12 years old). NOTE: With that said, as you begin your journey remember that God draws closer to people who draw near to Him. (James 4:8)
